1 – Thali : Actually “Thali” is not a dish, it’s a combination of some indian meals which may has a sweet dish, two or more curries, dal (lentils), usually steamed rice, pickle, puri/naan/chapatti (one of these Indian breads), papad (poppadoms), butter milk, one raita, one or more chutneys.
2 – Samosa : This is the most common dish in india and everyone just love this. You can easily find “Samosa” almost anywhere in india. It is a fried or baked dish with a savoury filling, such as spiced potatoes, onions, peas, lentils, macaroni, noodles, cheese.
3 – Chola Batura : is a combination of chana masala (spicy chickpeas) and fried bread called bhatoora made from maida flour (soft wheat) from the Punjab (region) of India and Pakistan. Chole Bhatura is a world famous recipe from the Punjabi cuisine. Chole is a spicy curry made from white chickpeas where as Bhatura is a fried leavened bread.
4 – Hyderabadi Dum Biryani : Hyderabadi Dum Biryani is the king of all biryanies. It is a mixture of original Andhra cuisine and Hyderabadi cuisine, having Mughlai influence. The ingredients are basmati rice, goat or chicken meat, yogurt, onions, spices, lemon, saffron. coriander leaves and fried onions are used as garnish. The preferred meat is goat, but chicken, or other meats are used in some variations.
5 – Masala Dosa : It is form of thin pan cake prepared with the batter which is fermented over night. The batter is made of rice and white lentil (something called the udad dal). It is severed with potatoes, chutney and sambar.
